British Columbia Casino Delayed Until Q4 2021

Canadians have waited patiently for the arrival of a modernized brick & mortar casino in British Columbia. This follows after Gateway Casino & Entertainment have been developing a new location for twenty-four months. This gaming corporation already operates twelve locations throughout the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia, with this upcoming venue not opening for an additional twenty-four months.

Gateway confirmed it to the citizens of Delta, British Columbia. Investors were first informed secretly in a private conference earlier in January, which resulted around a merger with Leisure Acquisition Corporation. The merger follows after Gateway couldn’t follow through with the completion of Cascades Casino – Delta, which is costing $87 million for construction. VIP and Public launch dates have been delayed until Q4 2021.

Gateway Casino & Entertainment Group selected a previous site in Delta, British Columbia. Named the Delta Town & Country Inn, there are more than forty thousand square feet of space. It’s been confirmed that Cascades Casino -Delta will operate 600+ slot machines. This will extend to 30+ table games and two restaurants. Those dining locations are called the Atlas Streak and Fish Restaurant, with the other site named Match Eatery Public House.

When asked what prompted these extensive delays in construction, the Public Relations Director for Gateway noted that preparation for the building was delayed for the safety of citizens. It should be noted that the Delta Town & Country Inn was shut down because of broken infrastructure with the concrete framing. The goal for Gateway Casino & Entertainment is to offer the best amenities to visitors, with the highest-rated safety for any betting facility in Canada. For this reason, the delay of the grand opening was approved by Delta residents.

Previous Completion Targets

The Gateway Casino & Entertainment Group had previously hoped that the grand opening would launch by November 2020. That period was pushed back by twelve months until the fourth quarter in 2021. The publish relations director confirmed that Gateway is working extensively with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation to ensure that new estimations are completed on time. It’s anticipated that the Cascades Casino – Delta will employ more than 500 locals. This follows after 4000+ residents in the Delta region are register gamblers with the BCLC. Following the confirmation of these delays, it’ll have been four years since this casino was first approved to opening day. Delays could’ve also been factored in by the Ministry of Transportations unwillingness to support the respective parking lots for Cascades Casino.
