Coventry City FC Sponsored by BoyleSports

Online sportsbooks that are active in the European Union have regularly been growing their sponsorship portfolios, primarily investing in football clubs. Throughout the last several days there have been four sportsbooks to announce new sponsorship contracts, with the latest coming from BoyleSports. It was published on August 22nd that BoyleSports has sponsored Coventry City Football Club, allowing for their branding to be showcased on the “Playing Kits & Replica Shirts”. This means all players with Coventry City FC will dawn BoyleSports as their primary sponsor in 2021.

An official statement was issued by BoyleSports, with their Chief Executive Office clarifying that they’d selected the Midlands for the sportsbooks area of expansion in Great Britain. Conor Gray emphasized their commitment towards Coventry City FC & the greater Midlands area, while also mentioning that BoyleSports is proud to sponsor this football club. The comments from Conor Gray ended by evoking that there’ll be history made with BoyleSports in the Midlands Region. This will be possible through the acquisition of Coventry City FC & the purchasing of thirteen betting shops in the Midlands, with an additional six coming later this year.

Coventry obtaining this sponsorship contract is financially beneficial for the football club, with it marking their most valuable deal since the 2011/12 EFL season. The Chief Executive Director with Coventry City FC emphasized that it’ll provide vital revenue required for their organization’s growth. Dave Bobby also thanked & welcomed BoyleSports to the Coventry family, noting that the sportsbook has become their principal club partner.

New Sponsorship Contract at Risk

Dave Bobby mentioned that the revenue obtained through BoyleSports sponsorship contract would give Mark Robbins, Coventry City FCs Head Coach, the funds required to prepare for EFLS Championship Series. The enthusiasm behind this sponsorship is evident with footballers & coaching staff at Coventry, with everyone understanding what this means towards their future. It should be mentioned that these funds could disappear unexpectedly throughout 2021, with the EFL determining if betting sponsorship contracts should be outlawed.

Sportsbooks & football clubs in Great Britain have rallied against their contracts becoming illegal, emphasizing that the loss of funds prompted to all football clubs would create an economic downfall for the EFL.
